Laravel, evaporated to Lambda.

Laravel Vapor is a serverless deployment platform for Laravel on AWS Lambda. fortrabbit is an alternative for teams that want managed Laravel hosting without the serverless model.

About Laravel Vapor

Vapor is Laravel's own serverless platform, built on Bref and AWS Lambda. It wires up the AWS pieces a serverless Laravel app needs (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS, RDS, CloudFront, certificates) and handles the Laravel conventions raw Bref leaves to you: asset compilation, queues, migrations.

Pricing is a flat monthly fee per organization, on top of whatever AWS bill the app runs up. It suits spiky, unpredictable traffic. One telling detail: for the steady default, Laravel now steers people to the non-serverless Laravel Cloud. That is Laravel itself marking where the serverless trade-offs stop paying off.

Why fortrabbit

Vapor earns its keep when a Laravel app genuinely wants serverless and the team is happy owning an AWS account underneath. fortrabbit hosts the same app always-on. The filesystem, the queue workers, the scheduler behave the way they do on a laptop.

The bill is a flat monthly rate for the component booked. No AWS usage to forecast, no per-request meter, no surprise the morning after a traffic spike. Deploys are a Git push. For a Laravel app that is not chasing scale-to-zero, that is the shorter road.
